Worshipping with Children
Worshipping with children can be challenging - balancing your expectations with the child's needs can be tricky! It can also be very fulfilling! Children are full of wonder and curiosity, and they love ritual, structure, and repetition. Worship follows the same general pattern from week to week and repeats familiar songs and responses. It doesn't take long for children to learn and respond along with the rest of the worshipping congregation.
Our Seasons of the Spirit resources provide some wonderful pamphlets on how to prepare and include children in worship to make it less stressful for parents and more meaningful for everyone.

Weekly Preparation
Christ Church follows the Revised Common Lectionary - a regular three-year schedule of scripture readings. You may want to read the scripture before coming to worship as preparation. Perhaps the texts will prompt some questions you may wish to ask or explore with your family, friends or other worshippers!

Weekly Follow-up
It's important to take home what we learn in worship and apply it to our daily lives. How?
-Talk about what you heard, saw, and learned in the car on the way home.
-What was your favorite part of the service?
-Did a particular word, phrase, scripture or hymn get your attention?
-Was there something that felt like it was meant especially for you?
-Did anything feel like it applies to a situation in your life at home, work or school?
-Keep the worship bulletin and read it again during the week to remind you of what you learned.
